Tips to having a successful session
Keep the clothing simple
- It is best to wear T-Shirts or V-Necks of a solid color so that the clothes do not distract from the main subject — you!
- Wear darker colors so that the contrast is good in color and Black & White photos. Lighter colors tend to wash out the subject and make them blend into the background.
For Family pictures, try to have everyone wearing similar clothing
- If everyone is wearing similar clothing, it represents the Unity in a family and draws the viewers eye to the subjects rather than the mismatched clothing.
- Examples: Jean Shirts and Khaki Pants, or Jeans and Black T-Shirts.
For Baby pictures, put them in a cute outfit or just in their diaper
Bring a couple of the baby’s /toddler’s favorite toys, we can use them in the pictures or just as a distraction for good smiles
For Pregnancy pictures, I recommend a button down shirt … then you can expose that cute belly without exposing too much more!
It is nice to have your spouse and/or other children with you for pregnancy photo sessions, we can incorporate them into the pictures
